Spider-Man: Brand New Day has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing one of the most lucrative opening weekends in cinema history, amassing an estimated $927 million globally within just four days of its release. The Marvel film, featuring Tom Holland in the titular role, now ranks as the second-highest global box office debut ever, surpassed only by Avengers: Endgame, which launched with a staggering $1.2 billion in 2019.
In North America, Spider-Man: Brand New Day garnered $355 million, narrowly missing the domestic opening weekend record of $357.1 million set by Avengers: Endgame. On the international front, the film collected $572 million from 66 markets. China emerged as the top contributor overseas, generating $121 million, followed closely by the United Kingdom with $49 million, Mexico at $38.3 million, and South Korea contributing $25 million.
The superhero blockbuster also shattered opening weekend records in several countries. In India, the film achieved the largest-ever Hollywood opening, bringing in $31.8 million. Other significant contributors included France with $26.6 million, Brazil with $23.8 million, and Spain, which added $15.6 million to the tally.
This latest installment in the Spider-Man franchise has comfortably outperformed the openings of its predecessors, with Spider-Man: No Way Home previously earning $600 million globally and Avengers: Infinity War debuting with $640 million worldwide.
